Lent - For more than
fifteen centuries, the season of Lent has encompassed forty non-Sabbath days
before Easter, a very Biblical number of days during which Christians are
encouraged to examine themselves and their lives before the celebration of the
Resurrection! This season is known as "Lent" and part of the
process often includes a "fast" of some kind. Whatever you give
up, whether or not you stick to it is between you and God! But this is a
time to be reconciled, a time to be humble, and a time to come close to one
another and to God.
