ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the Session welcomes Rev. Steve Boose  to our pulpit.  May God bless Rev. Boose as he leads us in worship and ministers the living Word of God.

Rev. Boose was born and raised in Windsor, ON, and grew up as part of the Forest Glade Presbyterian Church congregation.  His history degree was followed up by four years at Knox College, Toronto, after which he and his wife, Kathy, moved to PEI for five years at his first pastoral charge.  While there, they adopted three children, Kooper (now 17), Lyndsay (16) and Austin (14).  For the past ten years, Steve has been the minister at St. Andrew’s PC in Strathroy, Ontario.  He enjoys reading history (especially the world wars of the 20th century), science fiction and fantasy, playing both video and board games, and is getting back into golf.  He cheers for the Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs, and could be convinced to cheer for the Battalion since his beloved Windsor Spitfires are in the other conference of the OHL.  He believes in the power of drama, the essential nature of teamwork, and the blessing of song, both in the church and in the world.

Rev. Wendy Lampman will lead a meeting following this service when the congregation will decide with a vote.

Next Sunday,April 28th,  we welcome Emma Duncan, Mission and Outreach Sunday.

W.A. Book Sale May 4, at Linda Cairns, help and donations welcome.  905-877-1236.

Any member interested in "shadowing" Bill Karn, Cemetery Secretary/treasurer, please contact him. Bill will be retiring from this position in the next few years and there are many areas of responsibility to learn.

Session has decided that our church will be open for the summer months, July and August.

Please note that all fees for cemetery plots and services will increase June 1st 2013. Anyone who wishes to purchase plots before the increase please speak to Bill Karn, Cemetery Secretary/Treasurer.

The storm damage to the large pine tree in the cemetery was cut, chipped and all debris moved by Quality Tree Service at a cost of $565.00.  This was not covered by our insurance.
Thanks to those who volunteered their time Monday morning to remove snow fence and pick up debris from the ice storm.
