Great Prayer of Thanksgiving
Leader: The Lord be with you.
All: And
also with you.
Leader: Lift up your hearts.
All: We
lift them up to the Lord.
Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All: It
is right to give God thanks and praise.
(The prayer begins by approaching the aspect of God as
Creator, Father, Life-giver, being thankful for all that we have been given,
especially the gift of Jesus Christ. The
segment concludes with words to the effect of…)
Leader: We join with the whole creation to lift
our hearts in joyful praise, saying together…
All: Holy,
Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might,
Heaven and earth are full of your
glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who
comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the
highest.
(The prayer continues, with a focus now on Jesus
Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer, and how He gave us the communion meal to
unify us in one heart, one spirit, and one faith. This segment concludes as…)
Leader: We proclaim the mystery of faith,
saying:
All: Christ
has died.
Christ
has risen.
Christ
will come again.
We come to the final segment of the prayer, addressing
the Holy Spirit, moving from thankfulness for what has been done to
intercessions regarding what may yet be.
A time of silent supplication may mark this time, after which we
conclude with The Lord’s Prayer (debts).
Hear
us as we pray boldly with the words that He taught us as we say together,
Our Father…Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
We welcome you, our Church family,
to worship this morning. May God continue to bless us here at Limehouse.
Thanksgiving Sunday, October 9th, we will gather
and give thanks. Morning worship at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.
Harvest
Harmony - Saturday
- October 29, 2016, 7 p.m.
Please join with us - as we
enjoy musical selections from various artists. Following this harvest of
harmony, we will be serving dessert and beverages in the church basement where
we will enjoy conversation with our neighbours and friends. The music begins at
7pm. Donations to our little Church on the hill gratefully accepted.
Holiday Market
Friday December 2, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Knox Hall, Georgetown.
If you are able to donate homemade
items, we thank you.
Once again, we will "rent"
two tables for this event. All proceeds
to our church.
Treasurer – After many years
of faithful and dedicated service Bill Sanford has decided to retire from being
our Treasurer at the end of the calendar year. While we have many who
help with the financial side of things, we need someone to take on the title of
“Treasurer”, and it would be good to have a period of transition and
training. If you are interested, please talk to Bill or any of the other
elders about it.
Joint Worship Service – The five congregations of Georgetown, Limehouse, Norval, Union and
Acton are once again holding a joint service of worship! This year, we at
Knox will be hosting the service, which will take place on Sunday, October 30th,
in our normal 11:00 time slot. A joint choir is being formed to present
music for the day, and Rev. Bryan Fox, the stated supply preacher at Union,
will be bringing the message for the day. There will be a light luncheon
to follow, and we hope to see everyone out!
