Announcements
·
160 years! It’s not the huge celebration that we wanted, but we still celebrate sixteen
decades of living and working and worshiping together in this place!
·
In-person services are
available again! However, we are still
livestreaming from Knox on Sunday mornings for those who are not able or not
certain that it’s safe to come out for worship.
If we are pre-empted by YouTube’s
algorithms, we may not be livestreaming immediately, but be patient! It will be there later! (And the best way to ensure that we are able to
livestream is to make sure you have Subscribed to Knox’s YouTube
channel!)
·
Communion Sunday – Next Sunday, October
3rd, is Worldwide Communion Sunday!
We will be partaking of the bread of the promise and the blood of
Christ… though it will be elements that we ourselves bring to the worship
space! There will be elements available for those who forget, but please try to
remember to bring your own.
·
October Preaching Series – Next week, we
start a four-week journey through the book of Job, at the suggestion of one of
our members (and a fortuitous conjunction with the Revised Common
Lectionary!). If you would like a text
copy of the sermon series when all is said and done, please speak to Rev. Steve
about getting it.
·
Do you have a hymn that you’ve
been wanting to hear or sing? Please
submit such requests to Rev. Steve and he will slot it into an upcoming worship
service!
·
We are still looking for a Treasurer
and a Secretary to take over the positions being vacated by Bill &
Betty Anne Karn by the end of this year.
If you are interested in either position, please speak to either them or
Rev. Steve about what the jobs entail.
We are thankful for all their years of service in these positions!
o
Those who have celebrated a birthday
or anniversary this month.
o
Those who have marked the passing of a
loved one because of a loved one.
o
Those who are finally laying loved
ones to rest after COVID delays.
o
Those who are yearning for the bright
new dawn Jesus promised after having endured a time of darkness in their lives.
·
Thanks, as always, to everyone
for your continued support of the work and ministry of our congregation! Please remember that you can mail in your
offering, drop it off, or contribute through Canada Helps, starting at www.knoxgeorgetown.com/index.php/donations
