Announcements

Please join us for lunch following the service this morning!

A Word of Thanks – We would like to extend our thanks to Ron & Joan Matheson of Halton Commercial Printers for the donation of the invitations for today’s service.

Communion Sunday – Next week, June 5th, we will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Please remember to bring your own elements as we are not yet able to use a common plate/cup.

Pentecost – Next week is also the celebration of Pentecost, when the fire of the Holy Spirit came upon God’s people. Please consider wearing red in celebration of the day!

Historic Designation Update – Lindsay Petch is currently investigating the effect designation will have on insurance rates for the church. The congregation will subsequently decide on whether to move forward with the request for designation of certain parts of our building. We have until June 15th to present a request to

Heritage Halton Hills in order to get on the Council agenda for July 4th; if we miss that window, due to the upcoming Council elections, we will not be able to present any request to HHH before the new committee is in place in early 2023.

Special Prayers

· For all who have had ancestors or loved ones buried in this place over the past 190 years

· For those who are nearing death, one way or another, in the here and now

· For those who are dealing with health issues of many types – illness, injury, affliction, infirmity, or whatever.

· For all who are wondering what is coming next in their lives, either as small changes or large ones

·       Memorial Day Service-  Service will be held May 29th, 2022, 11:00 AM with an outdoor service and outdoor luncheon after.  We ask that people bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather.  (Note that we have requested bright sunshine on that day! )

·       Allan Murray - Knox is saddened by the passing of Allan Murray, husband of Jean Murray.  Though Allan seldom attended worship, he was a very visible presence and a hard worker at church events for many, many years.  His life was celebrated this past Friday at Jones' Funeral Home.  Please note that Jean has moved to Mountainview Residence, while Janice remains at the house for the time being - please direct any notes or cards accordingly.

·       Rev. Steve away - Rev. Steve will be on his annual Study and Preparation Week at Crieff Hills this week, and will be untethered from his phone for considerable stretches of time while he is there.  If you have a pastoral emergency, feel free to call him and leave a message, but you may also wish to contact your elder or the church itself, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

·       Pray also for:

- For students preparing to graduate from their various schools, excited and/or nervous about whatever may be their next step(s)

- For those planning summer programs (youth camps, VBS, etc.), some for the first time since 2019

- For those who struggle to maintain resources to live from day to day

- For those who are gearing up for General Assembly (including Rev. Steve), which meets during the first week of June
