Announcements

· We are continuing a series of messages based on the book of Job today. Job is an ancient attempt to engage the question of why bad things happen to good people. Thus, it’s not a pleasant book by any means, nor an easy one to read! If you decide to read through it and find yourself with questions, please don’t hesitate to send them along to Rev. Steve! He would love to help you work through them.

· Evangel Hall – Rev. Steve will be doing a clothing drop-off at Evangel Hall on Monday, November 1st! If you have any clothing that you wish to have donated to the Hall as you change over from Summer to Winter clothes, please bring them to Rev. Steve’s office. Sundries and packs of socks are also always welcome!

· Food Bank Toonie Jar – We have realized that the Toonie Jar, by which we make donations to the local food banks, has not been being used this year due to COVID! If you wish to make a donation to the food banks through the church, please include it in your offering with a clear note regarding direction before the end of the year!

· We have had some nibbles, but we are still looking for a Treasurer and a Secretary to take over the positions being vacated by Bill & Betty Anne Karn by the end of this year. If you are interested in either position, please speak to either them or Rev. Steve about what the jobs entail. We are thankful for all their years of service in these positions!

· We are also looking for an Organist / Pianist to lead music on Sundays – Kathleen Boose can do it, but we’d rather give someone else (such as a young piano student) the opportunity to play and gain some experience (not to mention earn a little money for their work!).

· Do you have a hymn that you’ve been wanting to hear or sing? Please submit such requests to Rev. Steve and he will slot it into the upcoming worship services!

· Pray also for:

o Those who are struggling to find God in a time of affliction

o Those who are struggling with food and financial insecurity in a world of plenty

o Those whose grief is fresh, or fresh once more, as COVID-delayed funerals continue to take place

o Those who are overloaded, overburdened, burnt out, or just plain exhausted

· Thanks, as always, to everyone for your continued support of the work and ministry of our congregation! Please remember that you can mail in your offering, drop it off, or contribute through Canada Helps, starting at www.knoxgeorgetown.com/index.php/donations
