Announcements

• Today is Reformation Sunday! 504 years ago, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther (statue is above) posted 95 objections to the practices of the Roman Catholic Church. Luther wanted to reform the Church, not split it, but split it he did, and today we remember what the Reformation itself became based on.

• Evangel Hall – Rev. Steve will be doing a clothing drop-off at Evangel Hall on Monday, November 1st! If you have any clothing that you wish to have donated to the Hall as you change over from Summer to Winter clothes, please bring them to Rev. Steve’s office. Sundries and packs of socks are also always welcome!

• Food Bank Toonie Jar – We have realized that the Toonie Jar, by which we make donations to the local food banks, has not been being used this year due to COVID! If you wish to make a donation to the food banks through the church, please include it in your offering with a clear note regarding direction before the end of the year!

• We have had some nibbles, but we are still looking for a Treasurer and a Secretary to take over the positions being vacated by Bill & Betty Anne Karn by the end of this year. If you are interested in either position, please speak to either them or Rev. Steve about what the jobs entail. We are thankful for all their years of service in these positions!

• We are also looking for an Organist / Pianist to lead music on Sundays – Kathleen Boose can do it, but we’d rather give someone else (such as a young piano student) the opportunity to play and gain some experience (not to mention earn a little money for their work!).

• Do you have a hymn that you’ve been wanting to hear or sing? Please submit such requests to Rev. Steve and he will slot it into the upcoming worship services!

• Fall Back – Please remember that your clocks go back one hour next Sunday morning!

• Remembrance Sunday – Next week, we remember our veterans and commemorate those lost in the wars of the 20th century, as well as the wars that are still being fought today.

• Pray also for:

o All the little trick-or-treaters who will be out roaming the streets for Hallowe’en

o All the teachers who will have the little trick-or-treaters in their classes tomorrow!

o All the parents trying to balance fun with safety

o All those who are scared by real life factors and not just make-believe ones.

• Thanks, as always, to everyone for your continued support of the work and ministry of our congregation! Please remember that you can mail in your offering or drop it off at Bill Karn’s home.
