Announcements

·       In Person Service Knox and Limehouse are once again open.  Protocols will be the same as before,for the time being.  This means that worship will NOT be pre-recorded but will be LIVE at Limehouse at 9:30 and 11:00 at Knox.

·       Easter Sunday - This Sunday, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, the ultimate payment for the price of all sins!  Please remember to bring your elements to worship on Sunday, either to the church or to your monitor, as we celebrate and commemorate Jesus' death and resurrection, the act that seals salvation for the sinners of the world!  We hope to have some form of actual "communal communion" in October for World Communion Sunday

·       Women's Association -The WA met April 3rd for their Annual Meeting and elected a new slate of officers. The 2022 slate of officers are: President Cathy Brown; Vice-President Marylou Denny; Secretary /Treasurer Mary Ann Willett; and Flower and Fruit Fund Glenda Benton. Next meeting of the WA will be May 1st after church to make plans for the Memorial Day service.

·       Building Fund Sunday- April 24th  Donations can be made to the Building Fund using the special envelopes that will be supplied on Sunday April 24 ( in case you are using direct deposit for donations).  .At the recent AGM, the members suggested we raise funds for the painting of the church basement and all donations will be directed to this project. 

·       Memorial Day Service  Service will be held May 29th, 2022, 11:00 AM with an outdoor service and outdoor luncheon after.  We ask that people bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather.  (Note that we have requested bright sunshine on that day! )

·       Guest Preacher April 24th - The Sessions have granted Rev. Steve a week off from preparing worship for next Sunday, so we will be joined by Mario Charpentier, formerly the chaplain at the Georgetown and Milton hospitals.  Mario was a fixture at those hospitals for the past sixteen years, and as he transitions to the next phase of life and ministry, we pray that God will show him the way to go. 

·       Community Unity: Please see attached for information with regards to the Spring Yard Clean Up April 18th to May 2nd.

·       Georgetown Candlelight Tribute: May 5th at 6:30 pm, meet in Edith St Parking lot, will conduct a silent walk followed by laying of candles on the cenotaph at Remembrance Park in recognition of Victory in Europe (VE Day) and all Canadians who have served in times of War and Peace.  Speak to Charles Veale from Knox (veale_c@hotmail.com) if you have any questions.

·       Return to Mountainview Residence - Rev. Steve will return to doing worship services at the Mountainview Residence on Wednesday, April 20th, starting at 2:00, in the theatre on the 2nd floor of the main building!  He will be there (usually) on the third Wednesday of every month at 2:00, and will visit residents before and after the services. 

·       Pray also for:

-For those who are feeling "dead" in body, mind, or soul and are in desperate search of "resurrection"

-For those battling the latest wave of COVID illness, both those who are vaccinated and those who are not

-For those striving to bring peace to the areas of the world that are shattered by war, and 

-For those seeking to welcome the refugee, unloose the prisoner, free the slave, bind up the broken-hearted, feed the hungry, and raise up the downtrodden, all with the love and grace of God!

·        We were asked to pass on: On Saturday April 23rd at 8 pm, The Georgetown Bach Chorale and Chamber Orchestra will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 his Requiem at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Georgetown.
